Guide to Protection Against Violence for Persons with Disabilities

By the Working Group on Protection against Violence for Persons with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities are disproportionately affected by violence, particularly women and girls. Two studies on violence and protection against violence for persons with disabilities, commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and published in June 2024, show a strong need for action in the areas of prevention, intervention and protection against violence in integration assistance institutions and services. The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs therefore initiated a working group on protection against violence for persons with disabilities in December 2024. The members of the working group worked together to develop this guide to protect persons with disabilities against violence.
