Visit of the new Italian ambassador at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs

BMAS/D. Baller

On 18 February 2025, State Secretary Dr Rolf Schmachtenberg welcomed Fabrizio Bucci, Italy’s new ambassador to Germany, at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. They had a constructive meeting in an atmosphere of friendship. One focus was the implementation of the German-Italian action plan in the area of labour and social affairs. State Secretary Schmachtenberg and Ambassador Bucci discussed the progress of cooperation in this area and developed ideas for further collaboration.

Among other things, they spoke about cooperation as part of the EU’s "ALMA" initiative ("Aim, Learn, Master, Achieve") designed to support disadvantaged young people who are neither in employment nor in training. They also exchanged views on cooperation concerning policies for persons with disabilities and talked about possible cooperation regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market.

We look forward to a successful and fruitful collaboration with Ambassador Bucci and his team at the Italian embassy in Germany.
