At the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting held in Fortaleza, Brazil on 25 and 26 July, the group of leading industrialised and emerging economies agreed on a final declaration identifying the creation of decent work as a key to more fairness in society and the world of work.

Parliamentary State Secretary Anette Kramme represented the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. At the meeting, she worked to see progress on the key issues under discussion:

  • Less inequality and poverty
  • More gender equality
  • Better occupational safety in hot working conditions

On the sidelines of the G20 meeting, Anette Kramme held a series of bilateral talks on labour market issues, in particular on the topic of securing the supply of skilled labour and promoting vocational training. She met with ministers from Brazil, China, Turkey, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Singapore and the Netherlands, as well as with representatives from the OECD.
