In view of Europe’s digital, demographic and green transition, Social Europe is facing big challenges. The EU is an important driver for shaping the future of work. In 2024, the elections to the European Parliament and the formation of a new EU Commission will set the course for the future of our continent.
In the framework of the conference, the participants will thus discuss priority policy areas for the coming years, and they will develop initial ideas for the new EU Commission. The focus will be on the following topics:
- Democracy and worker participation at the workplace and at board level
- Making the free movement of workers and posting fair
- The future of social security, in particular a common understanding of solidarity-based provision for old age
Federal Minister Hubertus Heil will open the conference, followed by exciting debates with top level representatives from the EU Commission, the EU member states, the European Parliament, the social partners, civil society and the academic community.
The plenary sessions of the conference will take place from 09:30 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 16:45 and can be watched in the livestream. Participation in the workshops on the conference priority policy areas (11:00 to 13:00) is only possible if you attend the conference in person.
The capacity for participation at the conference venue is limited. If you are interested in participation please send an e-mail to: bmas-social-europe@mediacompany.com
