In the framework of the German-Greek consultations at State Secretary level, State Secretary Dr Rolf Schmachtenberg received a delegation from the Greek Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs for bilateral talks at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs on 12 May.
The agenda included current labour market and social policy reforms in Greece - such as the increase in the minimum wage or the introduction of a pilot project providing assistance to persons with disabilities. State Secretary Dr Schmachtenberg talked about his experience with similar reforms in Germany.
Both ministries intend to cooperate more closely at bilateral and at EU level in future. To this end they agreed on various concrete exchange formats - for example an exchange of experience about the promotion of continuing training.
