Parliamentary State Secretary Kramme meets with Director General of the International Organization for Migration

Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Labour Ministry Anette Kramme welcomed Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) António Vitorino to her ministry for talks on 10 April 2019. Migration is one of the major issues of our time, one that we will continue to grapple with in the future. It is therefore important for us to have a lively exchange of ideas and work together to ensure that migration is safe, orderly and regular, said Parliamentary State Secretary Kramme.

The discussion focused on the topic of migration in relation to the German labour market. The topics of discussion included German legislation on the immigration of skilled workers and the national implementation of the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in the areas of regular labour migration and fair recruitment. The policy measures for the integration of refugees and migrants into the German labour market were also highlighted. IOM Director General Vitorino praised Germany's broad approach in relation to the labour market integration of migrants and refugees.
