On 20 May, State Secretary Thorben Albrecht welcomed Jiři Dienstbier, the Czech Minister for Human Rights and Equality, to the Federal Ministry of Labour for bilateral talks. Topics covered during the friendly exchange included the current challenges in the social and professional integration of young people, the long-term unemployed and people with disabilities.
State Secretary Albrecht outlined the holistic approach of the German employment service to the labour market integration of young people and to the reduction of long-term unemployment. He made it clear that personalised integration strategies tailored to individual job seekers are particularly successful.
Moreover, Albrecht and Dienstbier discussed how workforce participation of people with disabilities can be further improved. State Secretary Albrecht stressed that the Federal Government wants to achieve the goal of a more inclusive labour market, also by means of the proposed Federal Participation Law.
