On 5 July 2016 State Secretary Thorben Albrecht met with Philippe De Backer, the new Belgian Secretary of State for the Fight against Social Fraud, Privacy and the North Sea.

On 5 July 2016 State Secretary Thorben Albrecht met with Philippe De Backer, the new Belgian Secretary of State for the Fight against Social Fraud, Privacy and the North Sea, at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Berlin. They discussed possibilities of a more intensive cooperation between the German and Belgian authorities in the fight against social fraud and undeclared work.

They agreed that the fight against social fraud and undeclared work is an important common concern in Europe, requiring transnational cooperation and effective national structures.
