State Secretary Albrecht receives delegation from Peru

On 29 June 2015 State Secretary Thorben Albrecht welcomed a delegation from Peru led by Minister of Labour and Employment Promotion Daniel Maurate Romero to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Against the backdrop of Peru's ongoing reforms, the discussion focussed on labour market policy and securing the supply of skilled labour. The guests from Peru were especially interested in the situation of young people in the labour market and the dual vocational training system in Germany.
State Secretary Albrecht emphasised the importance of the dual training system to meeting the German economy's demand for skilled labour. He explained measures for an active labour market policy, for example career guidance and counselling for young people as well as placement into training.
Minister Romero stressed the importance of good training and skill development for employees to the economic development of his country and suggested that the ministries continue the exchange of ideas at working level.
