Exchange on pension reforms in Germany and Switzerland

On 13 March 2014 Federal Minister Nahles received Federal Councillor Alain Berset, Head of the Swiss Department of Home Affairs, for talks at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

The focus of these talks was on the pension reform projects launched in the two countries and on their experience with previous pension reforms. Both sides were agreed that the pay-as-you-go scheme has proved its value as the first pillar of the pension system.
