German-Chinese intergovernmental consultations

Federal Minister Andrea Nahles received the Chinese Minister for Human Resources and Social Security, Mr Yin Weimin, on 10 October 2014 for talks in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Topical issues involving labour market and social policy were discussed. The meeting was held as part of the third German-Chinese intergovernmental consultations for which Chancellor Angela Merkel invited the Chinese government to Berlin.

The discussion with the Chinese minister revolved in particular around the topics Youth Employment and Pension Policy. "It is very important to me that we have a close exchange between our countries in the areas of labour/employment and social affairs", Federal Minister Nahles stressed. As part of the activities planned for the coming year, it was agreed to hold a joint event in Peking on the subject of Good Work.
