Visitor Centre

The Visitor Centre is situated in the Kleisthaus in 53 Mauerstrasse, Berlin. Here, the BMAS' Visitors' Service welcomes citizens with an interest in politics, including classes of schoolchildren, clubs and groups from the constituencies of the members of the German Bundestag. Tours of the house provide visitors with a look behind the scenes and insights into the history of the building, its architecture and permanent exhibitions by various artists.

In informative talks with the members of staff, the visitors - about 500 groups per year - can get to know the tasks and goals of the house, the structure and methods of working, but can also discuss topics such as the future of the welfare state or the pension scheme.

Registration:

Interested citizens can register for a guided tour of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Groups should consist of at least 10 and maximum 50 people. The ideal dates for a visit to the BMAS are during the weeks when the German Bundestag is not sitting in the winter months of December and January and during the parliamentary summer recess.

If you are particularly interested in a certain topic, please specify this topic when you register. The Visitors' Service staff can then make specific preparations and if necessary ask experts from the responsible directorate-general of the Ministry to join the tour.

A large number of the 500 groups of visitors each year accept the invitation by a member of the German Bundestag. In this case, registration is through the office of the respective member. The Federal Press Office is responsible for coordinating these groups and arranging dates.

International Visitors' Service:

If you are part of a delegation wishing to visit the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, please contact your embassy in Berlin first. The embassies can provide you with a delegation registration form and will get into contact with the Division Protocol, International Visitors' Service, Events at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. If you have any questions in this regard, do not hesitate to contact the Ministry's International Visitors' Service at: VIb5@bmas.bund.de
