Hubertus Heil has become the new Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. On 14 March 2018 he officially took over the duties as successor to acting Federal Minister Katarina Barley.

Hubertus Heil received his letter of appointment from Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Schloss Bellevue, then was sworn in as the new Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs at the Bundestag by Wolfgang Schäuble, the President of the Bundestag.
