Germany has done a good job. For the most part, it has coped with the effects of the economic and financial crisis and the economic upswing is sust aining the labour market, despite global turmoil and uncer tainties. At 41.3 million, the employment figure is higher than at any time since reunification, while the number of unemployed declined to a 20-year low of 2.7 million in October 2011.
